# Mariposa Highlands

> A small, family-run Airstream stay on Penon Blanco Road, high on Penon Blanco Peak in Coulterville, California, used as a quiet base camp for Yosemite National Park. Not a campground, not a resort. About 36 miles, roughly an hour by car, from Yosemite's Big Oak Flat entrance via Hwy 120. Open all year.

- Stays: 5 new custom Airstreams with marble and walnut interiors; each sleeps 3 (queen bed and futon). Also the Mariposa RV, a renovated travel trailer that sleeps 2. - Land: nearly 500 private acres with valley sunset views, dark night skies, five year-round springs, private trails, and a small herd of Highland cattle (Jack the bull and about a dozen standard Highland cows with red coats) plus Lola and Lemon, two rare black micro mini Highland cattle, and Pearl the mini donkey. The free 9 AM guest visit is called Coffee with the Cows: daily, approximately 20 minutes, coffee and cocoa served.
- Fire: every site has its own propane fire pit. Wood fires are not allowed.
- Free for guests: 9 AM visit with Pearl, Lola and Lemon, trails, early arrival before check-in and staying on the land after check-out.
- Coming 2027: thermal spa (cold plunge, sauna, hot tub, fireside loungers).
