The Airstreams and the RV

Good to know

  • Check-in after 3 PM. Check-out before 11 AM. Come early and stay late on the land at no extra cost; see Arrive early, stay late.
  • Minimum stays vary by unit and by date. One-night stays are available in select Airstreams; each unit's page lists its minimum, and the booking calendar shows the exact minimum for your dates.
  • Up to 3 guests per Airstream, and up to 2 in the Mariposa RV.
  • Quiet hours start at 10 PM. No loud music. Parties or events only with a full-property buyout, and they still follow our guidelines.
  • No smoking. No guest laundry on site.
  • Every site has its own propane fire pit. Wood fires are not allowed.
  • Bring groceries. Small local stores are a few minutes away; for a full shop, stop in Merced, Turlock, Modesto, or Mariposa on your drive. Yosemite Valley also has a grocery store (a little more expensive).
  • The exact address and directions are shared after booking. The roads are paved asphalt all the way to us; expect natural ground around the sites.

Groups, buyouts and retreats

Families spanning generations, small teams that need room to think, friends who want the hillside to themselves: you can book several Airstreams side by side, up to 15 guests across all five. Parties or events are only allowed if you book out the entire property (and still follow our guidelines), so please write to us first and we will tell you what is possible. mariposahighlands@gmail.com

Questions guests ask us

How do I book?

Right here. Pick your dates and guests above, choose an available Airstream or the RV, and book in a few steps. Your reservation goes straight into our calendar, and you get a confirmation by email.

What does it cost?

Rates change by season and day of the week, so the best way to see what your stay costs is to check dates for current rates. You see the full total for your dates, including fees and taxes, before you pay.

What are check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is after 3 PM and check-out is before 11 AM, with self check-in by lockbox. You are welcome on the land before check-in and after check-out.

Is there a minimum stay?

It depends on the unit and the dates. One-night stays are available in select Airstreams: right now 1A and 2A take one-night stays on any open night. The others often need 2 nights, and a few holiday dates need more. Each unit's page lists its minimum, and the calendar above shows the minimum for your dates before you book.

How many people can stay in an Airstream?

Up to 3 guests. Each Airstream has a queen bed and a pull-out futon.

Is there anything besides the Airstreams?

Yes. The Mariposa RV is a renovated travel trailer on its own deck. It sleeps 2 and usually has a 2-night minimum. You can book it right here with the same calendar.

Can we have a fire?

Yes. Every site has its own propane fire pit. Wood fires are not allowed.

Can I bring my dog?

Well-behaved dogs are welcome with approval. Pet fees and rules are in our terms.

Are you open in winter?

Yes. We are open all year, and every Airstream has heating. Winter is the quiet season, with long dark nights and a calmer Yosemite.

How far is Yosemite?

About 36 miles, roughly an hour by car, to Yosemite's Big Oak Flat entrance via Hwy 120. See our perfect Yosemite day.

Where can I buy groceries?

Please bring food with you. Small local grocery stores are just a few minutes away, but we recommend a full shop in one of the bigger towns on your drive, like Merced, Turlock, or Modesto. Coming from the Mariposa side, Mariposa has a large grocery store, and Yosemite Valley has a grocery store too (a little more expensive).
